Jong-Hyouk Lee carried his M.S. and Ph.D. work in Computer Engineering at Sungkyunkwan University, Republic of Korea. In 2009, he joined the project team IMARA at INRIA, where he undertook the protocol design and implementation for IPv6 vehicular (ITS) communication and security. Dr. Lee started his academic profession at the Network, Security, and Multimedia (RSM) Department of TELECOM Bretagne, France in 2012 as an Assistant Professor. In September 2013, he moved to Sangmyung University, Republic of Korea. He has involved in standardization activities at the ISO TC204 WG16, ETSI TC ITS, and IETF. He twice received Excellent Research Awards from the School of Information and Communication Engineering, Sungkyunkwan University. Dr. Lee won the Best Paper Award at the IEEE WiMob 2012 and received the 2015 Best Land Transportation Paper Award from the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society. He was a tutorial speaker at the IEEE WCNC 2013, IEEE VTC 2014 Spring, and IEEE ICC 2016. In November 2014, he was selected as the Young Researcher of the Month. He is a senior member of the IEEE. He is an associate editor of Wiley Security and Communication Networks, IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, IEEE Consumer Electronics Magazine, and Springer Annals of Telecommunications. Research interests include malware, vulnerability exploitation, authentication, privacy, mobility management, and protocol analysis.

Byeong-Cheol Choi graduated from Inha University with a B.A. degree in Naval Architecture in February, 1986 and received a master’s degree from Texas A&M University majoring in Ocean Engineering in December, 1988. He entered Basic Design Department, Samsung Heavy Industries Co., LTD. in August, 1992 and transferred to the Americas Sales Department, Samsung Heavy Industries Co., LTD. in July, 1996. After resigning from Samsung Heavy Industries Co., LTD. in March, 1997, he entered The Korea Shipbuilders’ Association in April, 1997, and he retired there after working for 25 years at the age of 60. Afterwards, he worked for UAMitra (Urban Air Mobility Industry Technology Research Association) for one and half years, and resigned on October 31, 2023. Now he joined Sejong University to work with Prof. Jong-Hyouk Lee in terms of standardization from November 1, 2023. He has assumed ISO/TC 8 (Ships and marine technology)/SC 8 (Ship design) Committee Manager since February, 2001 up to now. He currently serves as a member of the ISO TMB(Technical Management Board) Response Committee operated by the Korean Standards Association (KSA). Consultation services were provided to international standard experts from the National IT Industry Promotion Agency(NIPA), Korea Marine Equipment Research Institute(KOMERI), POSCO, Superconductor, Hyundai Steel, Seoul National University, Korea Drone Industry Promotion Association, Oriental medicine, etc. On November 3, 2006, he received a commendation from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy at the 2006 World Standards Day sponsored by the Korean Standards Association (KSA) and hosted by the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS). He educated Chairs, Committee Managers, and Convenors and related standard experts several times on the procedures for establishing international standards and how to write them. His research interests include association standard, national standard (KS) and International Standard (ISO).
