Research activities of the Protocol Engineering Laboratory (PEL) established in 2014 span the entire development cycle of network and system protocols. Our recent interests are design, analysis, and implementation of protocols for blockchains and 6G networks. Not surprisely, we have been conducting security and performance analysis in a practical level. Our research results have been being contributed to International standardization and national research agencies.

Laboratory research projects are supervised by Dr. Jong-Hyouk Lee at Sejong University. Research funding has been provided by the National Research Foundation (NRF) of Korea, Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), National Security Research Institute (NSRI), Korea Copyright Commission (KCC), etc.

We keep the phrase, “We reject kings, presidents, and voting. We believe in rough consensus and running code,” coined by David Clark.
